今、Dniel Clowesの書いた"David Boring"　というアメコミを読んでます。

Dniel Clowes( http://www.fantagraphics.com/artist/clowes/clowes.html)
は一部ではcomic novelistと言われてます。
いわゆるCartoonとComic Novelの線引きが私にはよくわからないんだけど、
Dniel Clowesのcomicは日本の普通のマンガ読者に受け入れられそうな気がします。

とくに今読んでる"David Boring"　はつげ義春っぽいです。
日常の悪意とか不条理に巻き込まれる雰囲気が似てます。
"Ghost World"も映画より原作の方がストーリーの本質がよくわかります。

I've been reading the comic "David Boring" written by Dniel Clowes.

Daniel Clowes is original writer of"Ghost World",
his books are sometimes called as novel comics.
I don't know exactly the border between Cartoon and Comic Novel.
Comic Novel seems like closer to Japanese Comics than Cartoon.
Most of Japanese comics no longer have heroes, like Super Man.

I sense that Daniel Clowes's books would be popular in Japan.
His stories have common sense with Tsuge Yoshiharu
who is Japanese comic writer.
He often draws the negative aspects of life.

I hope you can get translated versions out side of Japan.
And I recommend you reading these two writers.
